Empath Healing and Wellness offers high-quality and professional psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, teens, couples and families.

Individual

Individual Therapy is a process where clients work in a collaborative effort with a trained therapist in a safe, caring and confidential environment.  The aim of individual therapy is to facilitate change, increase insight and improve overall quality of life. The therapist helps clients explore feelings, beliefs and behaviors and brings to light underlying factors. Individual therapy teaches appropriate coping and relational skills.

Adolecent and Teen

Therapy services for adolescents are varied but all include the use of proven treatments to address issues like anxiety, depression, ADD, family conflict or relationship issues. Clients learn how to recognize thoughts and feelings that are driving their current symptoms and develop coping skills and strategies to overcome these obstacles. Many of the techniques are based in Cognitive Behavioral therapy which teaches teens to observe how their thoughts lead to unwanted behavior and ultimately to problematic symptoms.

Couples

Psychiatric Evaluation During a medication consultation the psychiatric practitioner will review medication history, allergies, medical issues, current symptoms, length and severity of symptoms, family history, and other questions to develop a full understanding of how the problem affects you.  Based on the most recent research, the practitioner will evaluate the situation to determine if medication may be helpful, and make recommendations for the proper type of medication.

Medication Management Regular follow-up is essential to assure that the medication has its desired effect. Often medication needs to be adjusted to make sure that the right dosage is being used.  Additionally, other medications or combinations of medications may be recommended with ongoing assessment. Continuing therapy is critical to assessing the appropriate course of your treatment, and your psychiatric practitioner will collaborate closely with your therapist over the course of your treatment at CHD.  As a result, all clients seeing our psychiatric staff must also continue in therapy.
